Access to plant can be very difficult, making portable corrosion monitoring equipment unsuitable. In this case the best solution is a hardwired potentiostat at each monitoring location. The preferred standard for corrosion rate measurement in industrial locations is Linear Polarisation Resistance (LPR). We make the ideal instrument for the job, the LPR 485.
This is housed in a small, tough and waterproof metal box, intended for permanent mounting in-situ. A screened lead runs to a two or three element probe and the instrument communicates with the controller PC via a two wire RS485 interface. RS485 uses a differential method of transmission that is very tolerant of the noisy conditions found in industry, this allows for a long cable run and good reliability. Our software is robust and easy to use, rebooting and retaking control after any power loss. The PC screen shows real time corrosion rates from each probe location for easy visual indication of any corrosion problems.
Built with the accuracy and precision of a laboratory system up to 30 LPR 485's may be wired together in a daisy-chain for comprehensive corrosion coverage of your plant, refinery, nuclear dump, chemical works etc.
All ACM Instruments come with a two year warranty which may, at low cost, be increased to five years for peace of mind.
